How to Choose Best Hand Blender?

To choose the best hand blender for your needs, first consider the task for which you’ll use it most. If you’re mainly interested in making sauces, choose the one that has a dedicated tool for the job. If you want a blender mainly for making smoothies and frozen drinks, choose one with at least 500 watts of power and an ice-crushing blade.  For chopping/grinding tasks, you’ll need one with a chopping blade and processing functions. Otherwise, a standard blender will usually be adequate for most blending, pureeing, stirring and mixing tasks, such as making baby food or creaming soups. The more functions rather than speeds that a jar or hand blender has, the higher the cost. Decide first what type of blender you want, then look for the features most important to you. After your purchase, remember to read your product manual for care tips and instructions.

What can you do with a hand blender?

Although hand blenders have roughly half the horsepower of the average countertop blender, the good ones are just as effective, able to roil a pot of food like a tornado. You can do many things easily with a hand blender. such as-

Making sauces:

Make lump-free gravy quickly, and purée fresh or canned tomatoes into sauce in seconds. Emulsified sauces like mayonnaise and vinaigrettes are a snap with a hand blender.

Soup:

vegetable or bean soup is a prime candidate for a hand blender (beware—a few blenders aren’t intended for hot liquids).

Juice or Drinks: Drinks like  Smoothies, milkshakes, mixed drinks, frothed milk for cappuccino or hot chocolate—they’re all easy with a hand blender.

Applesauce:

For ultrasmooth applesauce, the hand blender beats the food mill. The top models can even pulverize apple skin.

Pesto:

Blend half the herbs with all the other ingredients except the cheese, and then blend in the other half.

Making Salad:

Making salad dressing, mayonnaise or salsa with an immersion blender can be quick and easy.

Can a hand blender be used as a mixer?

A blender, fundamentally, turns things into liquids.  With an immersion blender, for example, you can smooth out your chunky soups while they’re still on the stove, instead of having to (carefully!) pour hot soup from a pot into a blender. But it’s not going to make a refreshing drink out of a lemon and some ice. A quick survey of recipes that call for an immersion blender: salsas, soups, salad dressings, and recipes with cooked beans, peas or similar vegetables. Hand blenders are not for hard mixing. But with a hand blender one can easily use it as a soft mixer like whipped cream, beaten egg etc.

How to use a hand blender for smoothies?

A hand blender or immersion blender smoothie whips up in a short time. Put all of your ingredients in a tall glass but don’t fill it more than two-thirds full. When you immerse the blender’s blades in the liquid and fire it up, it will incorporate air into the mixture, which will expand. Not all immersion blenders have the power to blend large chunks of ice, so break them up before adding them to your smoothie. When you put the hand blender into your glass, move it to the bottom and make sure that the liquid fully covers the blades. Start at the lowest setting to avoid spills and then crank it up by notches. Watch until the smoothie reaches your desired thickness and then turn off the blender. If it’s too thick, add more juice. If it’s too thin, add banana slices, yogurt, or more ice.

Few general tips about hand blender to use it efficiently

Wash it as soon as possible:

The blade of the hand blender has lots of hard-to-reach spots, and if you let it sit for too long it can be hard to clean it completely.

Blend in bigger quantities:

hand blenders work best when there’s a lot of blend-able stuff to work with. Avoid small quantities and shallow dishes – for best results, you want the head of the immersion blender to be fully submerged in whatever it’s blending.

Let hot dishes cool before blending:

When you’re making soups or other hot blended dishes, remove the pot from the heat and let cool for 10-20 minutes before you blend anything.

Now hurry up , & find the right model of hand blender for you to make your life beautiful & easy.
